Join the Crew - 2010
Common Vision is now accepting applications for Fruit Tree Tour 2010 crew.

Interns are integrated members of life and work on tour. Nomadic educational work is both fulfilling and challenging. We urge interns to be in honest, open communication with themselves and with Common Vision staff about any questions or concerns both before and during the tour.
Costs of room and board are covered during the tour dates February 1st – April 15th. Common Vision provides three organic vegetarian/vegan meals a day. Each crew member has a designated space for sleeping and gear storage on one of the tour busses. At some of the tour stops camping is available.
We are looking for interns dedicated to participating in all aspects of Fruit Tree Tour and life on the bus. In addition to education and performance, interns will also take part in projects and daily chores.
Common Vision is consciously seeking to diversify the tour crew. People of color are encouraged to apply. Common Vision is committed to cultivating a living and working environment that intentionally seeks to promote the coexistence of people of diverse background and identity based on mutual respect and integrity.

Fall Benefit Concert Events
Volunteers needed:
At the Fall Fruit Tree Tour benefits we celebrate and support the important project Fruit Tree Tour through a series of 4 concerts across Northern California. Last year, the successful concerts raised 40% of the funds to cover the project expenses. To keep the benefits successful we need your help with promotion before the event, and a lot of hands working together at the events to keep them fun and running smoothly. If you will be in Mendocino, Grass Valley, or the Bay Area in early November, and would like to help out please get in touch at: info@commonvision.org

Support Fruit Tree Tour from Your Community
Regional Fruit Tree Tour Volunteer: Fruit Tree Tour reaches a wide area and we are always looking for the support of local community members. From helping to connect us to schools in your area, to bringing a pickup load of mulch to a community planting, to checking on the orchards at schools near you, to helping to care for a small fruit tree nursery, Fruit Tree Tour thrives on the support of the community. We also have occasional cyber projects that could use some additional support.
Nursery Support: Common Vision is working to develop several Fruit Tree Tour mini-nurseries across California. Our need is to have a wide variety of fruit trees that are appropriate to the climate and schedule of the schools in each area we plant. In order to provide schools with fruit during the entire school year we need to plant additional evergreen and non-bare-root varieties like citrus, loquat, avocado, and pineapple guava. We are looking for help in grafting, choosing varieties, providing land for a mini-nursery, caretaking a mini-nursery, acquiring rootstock, acquiring scion, and other related nursery guidance and skill-sets.
If you are interested in getting involved with Common Vision's Fruit Tree Tour please contact info@commonvision.org.
