The Common Vision Fleet
The Lioness
The Lioness is a veggie-fuel elder in California with over 100,000 miles on homebrew biodiesel and straight vegetable oil. She has housed and transported thousands of young earth activists, educators, and students to ecovillages, farms, cultural gatherings, and schools. Her organic kitchen had fed thousands and, with a rebuilt engine, will continue this service on Fruit Tree Tour 2009. She is truly a legend.
"Bu" (BamBoomBox)
"Bu" was rookie of the year on the 2007 tour. She boasts a 1000 Watt
solar system, a bamboo interior, a fully functional office for 4, sleep
space for eight, and of course a custom Common Vision straight
vegetable-oil conversion. Bu likes long drives on (a flat part of)
the coast, sipping fine filtered vegetable oil, and enjoys opening her
understorage on the schoolyard to reveal the 100 drums, costumes, and
props within.
Bassi
Bassi (Swahili for Bus) joined the Common Vision fleet
for Fruit Tree Tour 2005. She boasts one of the world's most reliable
veggie conversions. With approximately 400 Watts of solar and a large
battery bank she easily provides the power for the mobile office and
media center. She selflessly hauls over 30 poles for a pair of 14'
teepees and she loves to go out for Thai, sushi, and Mexican.
Fridgey
Fridgey puts the “fruit tree” in Fruit Tree Tour. She performs the
unending task of convincing our 1000 fruit trees that it is still deep
in winter throughout the tour. She also serves as our oversized walk-in
refrigerator for the crew’s food. This assures that all the organic
vegetables that local farmers so painstaking cultivated turn into
positive fruit-tree-planting energy via the crew. Thanks, Fridgey! You
make it all happen.
